High Tea!
What an incredibly fabulous day we had yesterday.
A couple of months ago, The Ranelagh CWA approached us and asked us to let them know a little bit about ourselves as they’d like to hold a fundraising day.
This was really exciting and as it falls within our Community Partnership program, we look forward to developing a mutually rewarding relationship with them.
Yesterday, 80 people from our local community; including dignitaries; CWA members from Sorrell, Kingston, Lindisfarne and Ranelagh and HSS members, attended an afternoon high tea at the Ranelagh Memorial Hall. We all enjoyed an incredible feast prepared by the CWA team who not only worked at Home in the previous days cooking up a storm and but also worked tirelessly in the kitchen during the afternoon.
The prizes in the raffle, Dutch auction and lucky door draw were all donated by local businesses and helped to make it a successful afternoon. What knocked our socks off was that they raised for us an approximate amount of $2600 – we will know for sure over the next week exactly how much, but this this amount of money will certainly enable us to buy our heaters and get them installed and will also assist with purchase of further items in our security package.
All this of course is bringing the opening date for project workshops a lot closer. Over the next two weeks we will be completing a couple of fit out jobs; chasing up some tool orders and organising tutors and some timetabling.
My sincere apologies for some recent delivery and installation delays and my own recuperation, however I get my car on Tuesday week and can recommence driving following my accident. – so onward and upwards!
